125th Year 16/04/2010

I have been researching some of the Club’s history, in particularly the Club’s 1st World War Memorial. Of particular interest is the entry of Capt.. H. H. Robinson, MRCS; LRCP; DSO, a past President of the Club. I have contacted the RAMC Museum & have received the following entry:
“Educated Owens College Manchester (M.C.R.C.S L.R.C.P London); was senior house surgeon of Southport Infirmary, later house surgeon of the infirmary Burton-on-Trent, and subsequently honorary medical officer of Birkenhead Children's Hospital. He served in the Great War from 1914 as a Temporary Captain in the RAMC. He was drowned on 4 May 1917. The D.S.O was awarded 25/8/16 which would be the Battle of the Somme.”
Sadly his Army Records seem to be lost & I can find little more other than his first name was Henry. Does anyone know of anything else about Dr. Robinson, indeed anyone on the 'Roll of Honour'?
